WHY VISIT IT
Visiting our museum is not only a historical and cultural experience, but also an opportunity for interactive and playful learning. In addition to exploring our collection through carefully preserved artifacts, visitors can uncover hidden truths and curiosities from the past through engaging activities designed to spark curiosity and enjoyment.
THE MUSEUM
The Upper Mugello Archaeological Museum represents a heritage of inestimable value for the community, as it documents the most ancient and lesser-known past of the upper valleys of the Lamone, Senio, and Santerno rivers. The museum plays a vital role in preserving, protecting, and promoting each artifact, which tells the story of our territory from prehistory to the late Middle Ages. Although only partially originating from systematic excavations, all the exhibits hold great significance for the local history, as they fill a gap of millennia, demonstrating a continuity ofhuman presence even in seemingly most inhospitable areas.
