WHY VISIT IT
In the countryside of Borgo San Lorenzo lies a farmhouse next to a stream, surrounded by woods and cultivated fields, where visitors can relive the daily activities of rural life from the past. Over 2,000 objects make up an important museum collection that reconstructs in detail the sharecropping culture between the late 19th century and the first half of the 20th century.
THE MUSEUM
The old farmhouse, nestled in the greenery of the Mugello hills, is today both a museum and a workshop, preserving and promoting the memory of the ancient rural world of the Tuscan-Romagna Apennines. The museum is the result of the deep passion and constant commitment of the volunteers of the Gruppo d’Erci, who for over forty years have worked to ensure that the history, values, and knowledge of the territory and its people are not lost.
Around the farmhouse, some outbuildings today house sections of the museum, while a recently built workshop further down the valley hosts educational activities, training sessions, exhibitions, and seminars.
